Allan Leapley

Allan Dale Leapley, age 79 of Crofton, Nebraska died on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Faith Health in Norfolk, Nebraska.

No formal services are being planned at this time.

Allan was born on September 3, 1947 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Elmer and Delores (Pollard) Leapley. Allan grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting a little bit more than the classroom. Nevertheless, he was successful in school and graduated from Norfolk High School in 1966, earned a business degree from Wayne State College, and an MBA from UNL.

Allan worked in purchasing and management at Becton Dickinson in Columbus, Brunswick Defense in Lincoln, and Majors Plastics in Omaha. He also owned a small business in Lincoln with his son, Lance.

At every stage of his life he loved horses and did a little bit of everything from running the camera at Fonner Park to owning and training thoroughbreds. His greatest love was his children, who he taught to love the outdoors and to be thoughtful human beings.

Allan is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Leapley of North Richland Hills, TX, and Nicole Leapley of Manchester, NH, and Nicole’s husband, Eric Ratinoff, and his grandchildren Analiyah Mitchell, Simon Ratinoff, and Alix Ratinoff; by his siblings, Naylon, Sherry, and Duane Leapley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Doloros Leapley, and his son, Lance Leapley.
