Cresentia T. Zimmerman, age 99 of St. Helena, Nebraska, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church in St. Helena, Nebraska with the Rev. Michael Keating officiating. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in rural St. Helena.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service and Video Tribute at 7:00 p.m. at the church in St. Helena. Visitation will continue on Tuesday one hour prior to services at church. Wintz Funeral Home of Hartington is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Joe Eickhoff, Allen Eickhoff, Dennis Kleinschmit, Chris Kleinschmit, Gary Zimmerman, Philip, Ron, and Hubert Zimmerman.
Cresentia Teresa Zimmerman was born on October 6, 1908 to Fritz and Mary (Shurman) Schroeder in Wynot, NE. She grew up on a farm in the Wynot area and attended elementary school in St. James, NE. She married Louis Hubert Zimmerman on September 5, 1933 in St. James, NE. After her marriage, she and Louis farmed near St. Helena. She helped him on the farm and raised her five children. Louis died on December 7, 1974 at the age of 82 years. Cresentia continued to live in her home until she was 96 years old. She moved into the Golden Living Center on November 11, 2004.
She was a member of Holy Family (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
Cresentia is survived by four children, Donald and Anna Mae Zimmerman of Tabor, SD, Henry and Jeanette Zimmerman of Yankton, SD, Della Rae Eickhoff of Fordyce, NE, Joe and Shirley Zimmerman of St. Helena, Ne; 38 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; three sisters, Amanda Kneifl of Newcastle, Marie Hochstein of Hartington, NE, Dorothy and Clarence Kathol of Hartington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, daughter, Mary Jean Kleinschmit, one grandson, Gerard Kleinschmit, 2 great grandchildren, Jason Kleinschmit and Tracy Schwader; 3 brothers, Ignatius, Leonard and Ray Schoeder.
