Donna Jean Wiechelman, age 86 of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Friday, November 10, 2017 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 10:30 am at the First Congregational UCC in Hartington with Rev. Gary Kimm officiating. Burial will be in the Hartington City Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am on Tuesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jess Hoskinson, Jon Wiechelman, Jamie Norris, Aaron Wiechelman, Christine DeBlauw and Alice Miller.

Donna was born on March 1, 1931 in Coleridge, Nebraska to William Laing and Laura Mabel (Strivens) Mitchell. She grew up in the Coleridge area and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1949. Donna married Kenneth D. Hoskinson on March 3, 1954 in Sioux City, Iowa. She then married Irwin L. Wiechelman on January 3, 1963 in Hartington. Donna was the bookkeeper for Wiechelman Repair in Hartington while also working at the nursing home in Hartington for 26 years. She retired on June 1, 1998.

Donna was a member of the First Congregational UCC in Hartington. She enjoyed sewing quilts and gardening. She especially loved her rose garden.

Donna is survived by her 3 children, Jeanie and Dan Hinkel of Hartington; Jess Hoskinson of Stanton, Nebraska; Jon and Janet Wiechelman of Hartington; 4 grandchildren, Jamie and Scott Norris of Plainview, Nebraska; Aaron Wiechelman of Hartington; Christine DeBlauw and friend, Jake Lewis, Gayville, South Dakota; and Alice and Ted Miller of Menominee, Nebraska, 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Irwin on February 10, 1998 at the age of 69, a brother, Don Mitchell and a sister, Betty Lou Hewitt.
