Stanley Seefeldt, age 70, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Friday, June 27, 2008 at Morningside Care Center in Alcester, South Dakota.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Dani Jo Ninke-Greaver officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton with military honors provided by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post No. 791. Visitation is from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, on Monday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton. Visitation continues one hour prior to the funeral service.
Pallbearers are Gordon Warne, David Seefeldt, Laverne Peterson and Mike Calvert.
Stanley was born October 4, 1937 at Clark, South Dakota to Martin and Clare (Roberdeau) Seefeldt. He attended Clark High School and enlisted in the US Army when he was 17 years old. He served for 3 years, spending most of the time in Germany. On December 21, 1957, Stanley married Jeanette Neal in Clark, SD. After their marriage, he re-enlisted in the US Air Force, serving 8 years with tours of duty in the United States, Japan and Thailand. While in the service, he attended several military schools and was educated in electronics. After his honorable discharge, Stan and Jan lived in California where he was the service manager for Colton Piano and Organ Company for over 25 years. In 2005, they retired to Yankton and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past December. Stan was a member of the Elks Lodge. He loved golfing, traveling, playing chess and putting together model airplanes. Stan also has an appreciation for the arts. He loved people, enjoyed making them laugh and always had a smile on his face. He was a kind and loving husband and father and was loved by all.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Seefeldt of Yankton; daughter, Kimberly (Tom) Grady of Hesperia, CA; 3 grandchildren: Kristin (Scott) Brown, Daniel and Andrew Grady; brother, David (Patti) Seefeldt of Rapid City, SD and a sister, Diane (Loren) Englund of Casa Grande, AZ; 1 niece and 3 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
