Wendell Eugene "Dick" Puntney, age 81 of Hartington, NE died on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Park View Haven Nursing Home in Coleridge, NE

Funeral Services will be on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with the Rev. Andreas Stein officiating. Burial will be at the Hartington City Cemetery in Hartington with military rites by the Coleridge American Legion Post #114.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church one hour prior to services

Pallbearers will be Aaron Puntney, Marlin Papenhausen, Todd Heitman, Brad Berner, Jeff Vock, and Dustin Puntney.

Wendell Eugene "Dick" Puntney was born on August 23, 1926 in Hartington to William Benet and Julia Madeline (Wohlman) Puntney. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from December 14, 1950 until being discharged on December 13, 1952. Dick lived in the Hartington area all his life and farmed near Coleridge.

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge, Coleridge American Legion Post #114.

Survivors include two brothers and spouses, Floyd and Marilyn Puntney of Wausa, NE, Raymond and Ardath Puntney of Coleridge; one sister, Lucille Heitman of Coleridge.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruby on October 19, 2000 at the age of 72 years; four brothers, Ed, William, Bob, and Ralph Puntney; two sisters, Viola McKnight and Helen Vock.
