Daniel Curtis Myers, age 16, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Thursday, December 31, 2009.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church in Yankton with Reverend Jon Cooke officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton. Visitation is Monday from 1:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton.
Pallbearers will be Heath Shutt, Schyler Boyd, Zach Kosmatka, Nathan Rausch, Zach Sage, and Ryan Schloss. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Yankton Boy Scout Troop 102.
Daniel was born April 13, 1993, to Roger and Cindy (Meeker) Myers in Yankton, South Dakota. He lived in Yankton and attended Yankton High School. He was a member of the Yankton Boy Scout Troop 102 and loved being in the Boy Scouts. He also enjoyed hunting, playing baseball, listening to music, playing his X Box 360, snow skiing and tubing in the snow, swimming, being with his friends, and fishing especially with his little brother, David.
Survivors include his mother, Cindy Myers of Yankton; father, Roger Myers of Yankton; four brothers, Matthew (Nicole Brandt) of Yankton, Adam (Carrie Kneifl) of Sioux Falls, James and David both of Yankton; sister, Elizabeth Myers of Yankton; nephew, Johnathan Myers of Yankton; maternal grandmother, Gloria Meeker; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
