Irene Mauch

Irene Mauch, age 89 of Hartington, NE, died on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Hartington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. John Pietramale officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington, NE.

Pallbearers will be Larry Nyberg Jr., Michael Hiland, Rob Morten, Josh Morten, Jason Morten, Ron Hansen, and Brad Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Irene's Granddaughters.

Irene was born on August 26, 1918 to Albert and Henrietta (Falter) Tyler in Bazile Mills, Nebraska. She grew up in the Bazile Mills and Creighton area. She moved to Hartington and graduated from Hartington High School. She married Albert "Ab" John Mauch on November 27, 1936 in Menominee, NE. After their marriage, she and Ab moved to Long Beach, California where all three daughters were born. They moved back to Hartington in 1949. Irene worked part-time in Hartington. Irene and Ab operated the SunGlo Bowl for several years. After moving into town, Irene worked as the Deputy Assessor to Duard Erickson at the Cedar County Courthouse.

Irene was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its perpetual adoration. She loved to golf and bowl and was an avid sports fan.

Irene is survived by her three daughters and their spouses, Sandy and Larry Nyberg of Sartell, MN, Judy and Roger Hiland of Crofton, NE, Diane and Monte Morten of Hartington, NE; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Myrle Tyler of Vancouver, WA.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Albert "Ab" Mauch on February 19, 1990 at the age of 77 years, one grandson, John Hiland; one great grandson, Benjamin Morten; one sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Kenneth Wyatt; one brother Kenneth Tyler.
