Ann Mary Lentz, age 73 of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Funeral Services will be on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 10:30 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington with Rev. Debra Valentine officiating. Burial will be in the Hartington City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Roger Brodersen, Jeremy Nicolls, Bob Haberer, Butch Joffer, Bob Giesinger and Sean Ring.
Ann was born on September 23, 1940 in Onaka, South Dakota to Ignatz and Theresa (Hoffart) Gabriel. She grew up in Onaka and then lived in Sioux City for several years where she worked in several restaurants, a cardboard manufacturing company and then IBP. She moved to Casper, Wyoming and worked for several different businesses and then moved to Worthington, Minnesota where she worked for Campbell Soup. Ann married Norvel Lentz on June 5, 1971 in Hartington and they lived in Lincoln for one year until moving to their farm east of Hartington. Ann worked side by side with Norvel on the farm until they retired in 2000. They built their new house in 2013 just a little ways up the road. Ann and Norvel played in the Moonlight Express band from 1979 to 1996. She managed and operated the Cedar County Transit Bus from 2007 to 2013. She also was an EMT for 5 years.
Ann was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the ELCW. She belonged to Tops and was an avid bowler. She enjoyed camping, fishing and loved anything outdoors, especially working on the farm.
Ann is survived by her husband, Norvel Lentz of Hartington; 2 children, Michael and Tatsiana Lentz of San Antonio, Texas; Jennifer Lentz of Hartington; a step grandson, Matthew and a brother, Lawrence and Dorrie Gabriel of Harold, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Paul, Tony, Leo and Frank Gabriel, 4 sisters, Rose Snowe, Kate Keller, Elizabeth Giesinger, Phillis Nicolls and 3 half-brothers.

I wish I could be there with you all rigjt now. Ann wadva great person who loved you all very much. Know thay she is not suffering anymore and is with the Lord. She will ne missed but never forgotten.

So sorry to hear about Ann's passing. Growing up on the farm as their neighbors she was always a kind lady and had such a bubbly personality. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
