Jimmie D. "Jim" Kutil

Jimmie D. "Jim" Kutil, age 76, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, South Dakota with Reverend Glen Enright officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Yankton with military honors provided by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post No. 791. Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, on Monday, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with a prayer service and video tribute at 7:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Joshua Kutil, Gavin Kutil, Jordan Kutil, Richard Kalin, Jerry Wiemers, Charlie Vogel, and Todd Spink

Jim was born April 22, 1932, to Arthur and Alberta (Danley) Kutil in Huron, South Dakota. He grew up and attended school in Lane, South Dakota graduating from Lane High School. He attended Huron College in Huron until joining the United States Army during the Korean War. After his discharge from the army he graduated from the University of South Dakota. He married Dorothy Wiemers on September 15, 1956, in Coleridge, Nebraska. They lived in Yankton where Jim was employed as a controller at Fantle's for 20 plus years. He worked at Kolberg's until he retired to the Sioux Falls area.

He was a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, sports, outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, watching his grandchildren's events and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by his three sons, Scott (Cinda) Kutil and their children; Gavin, Chelsie and Emily of Castle Rock, Colorado, Stacey (Debbie) Kutil and their children; Krista and Melissa of Hartford, South Dakota, and Stanley (Dawn) Kutil and their children; Joshua and Jordan of Mankato, Minnesota; sister, Beverly (Josh) Ewing; brother Jerry (Roxey) Kutil; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Dorothy.
