Fern Arvilla Kronberg, age 90 of Wausa, Nebraska, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Wausa, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Community Bible Church in Crofton (4 miles west of Crofton on Highway 12) with Rev Mark McClintock and Rev. Lyle Deford officiating. Burial will be in the Crofton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm with a Prayer Service at 4:00 pm at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton. Pallbearers will be David Kronberg, Kevin Kronberg, Wesley Baedke, Delwyn Hennings, Dave Carhart and Mark Keck.

Fern was born on July 1, 1923 at Awonka, South Dakota to Lloyd and Jessie (North) Christiansen. At the age of 9 she moved to a farm south of Plainview. She attended Plainview High School. Before her marriage she worked one summer at Estes Park, Colorado. On December 26, 1943 she married Magnus Kronberg at Plainview. They farmed in the Wausa area until 1946 when they moved to a farm in the Crofton area. In 1968 they moved into Crofton where Fern assisted her husband in the Kronberg Trucking business. She also operated a greeting card business in her home and worked at the second hand store in Crofton. Fern was very active in the Crofton Senior Citizen Center. Fern moved to the Countryside Villa in Wausa in 2006 and entered the Golden Living Center in Wausa in 2011.

Fern was a member of the Community Bible Church in Crofton and the Ladies Missionary Circle. She enjoyed shopping, sewing and spending time with her friends and family. She was very appreciative of all the people who gave her rides to where she needed to go.

Fern is survived by 3 children and their spouses, Marcus Kronberg of Salem, Oregon; Dennis and Kay Kronberg of Wausa; Barbara and Steve Parsons of Crofton; 6 grandchildren, David (Rhiannon) Kronberg, Laurie (Wesley) Baedke, Kevin (Sara) Kronberg, Pam (Jesse) Main, Hope (Casey) Holencik, Kurtrina Parsons and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Magnus, on December 22, 1991 at the age of 77, a granddaughter, Beth Kronberg, a daughter-in-law, Joan Kronberg, 2 brothers, Ralph and Lester Christiansen, 3 sisters, Ethel Hulslander, Mardelle Sovereign and Erma Durant.

Dennis, thank you for letting us know of Aunt Fern's move to Heaven on the 30th of October. My greetings and sympathy also to cousins Marcus and Barbara. Looking at the pictures was like looking at old home week with Lester, Mardelle, Mom even Grandma Jessie. Mom and Aunt Fern were always close here on earth. I am sure they are enjoying heaven together as well.
