Vicky (Milander) Kennedy, age 55 of Coleridge, NE died on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at St. Lukes Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa after battling cancer.
Memorial Services will be on Saturday January 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Coleridge with the Rev. Katherine Russell officiating. Private family burial of her ashes will be at the Hartington City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 7-8:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge.
Victoria Lee Kennedy was born to Wendell and Lois (Sommerfeld) Milander on April 2, 1956 in Yankton, SD. She grew up in Hartington, NE and graduated from Hartington Public High School in 1974. She graduated from the nursing program at Northeast Technical College in Norfolk as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for 18 years as a nurse at St. Lukes Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. After moving to Coleridge, she worked at the Park View Haven Nursing Home prior to working at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Randolph, NE.
Vicky is survived by her husband Richard of Coleridge; three children Jeremy Hetrick of Walthil, NE; Matthew Hetrick of Newman Grove, NE; Bridget Hetrick of Walthil, NE; three step-children Russell Kennedy - US Navy in Japan, Jodi Hanshaw of Dakota Dunes, SD, Craig Kennedy of Dakota Dunes, SD; two grandsons; mother Lois Milander of Hartington; two sisters and spouses Lori and Tom Shalon of Brainard, NE, Jolene and Rich Hejsek of Seattle, WA; two brothers and spouses Dean and Karen Milander of Wayne, NE, Bob and Brenda Milander of Pierce, NE; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his father Wendell Milander on January 17, 2008 at the age of 71 years; and grandparents.
