Hazel R. Johnson, age 83 of Bloomfield, Nebraska, died on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Creighton Area Health Services in Creighton, NE.

Memorial Services will be on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crofton, NE with the Rev. Bob Bryan officiating. Inurnment will be at the Beaver View Cemetery. There will be visitation on Wednesday one hour prior to services at the church. Wintz Funeral Home of Crofton is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Ruth Johnson was born on August 14, 1924 in Yankton, SD to Earl and Agnes (McCallum) Kammer. She grew up and lived in the Bloomfield area all of her life. She graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1942. She married Roy Johnson on June 15, 1945 in Laverne, MN. Hazel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aide group, the Crofton American Legion Auxiliary, longtime member of the Friendly Times Club. Hazel enjoyed traveling; her flowers, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her husband, Roy of Bloomfield; five children and their spouses, Billie Leader of Yankton, SD, Candice and Jim Thunker of Bloomfield, Roy and Nancy Johnson of Bloomfield, Gordon and Jeanne Johnson of Crofton, Lee and Alice Johnson of Bloomfield; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Aaron Johnson; one brother, Glen Kammer.
