Deloris Mae Hochstein, age 78 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family after a brief illness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family (Sts. Peter & Paul) Catholic Church in Bow Valley with the Rev. Jeffery Loseke officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Friday at the church in Bow Valley from 4-8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior to services in Bow Valley.

Pallbearers will be Josh Altwine, Eric Altwine, Brandon Eickhoff, Ryan Eickhoff, Ross Eickhoff, Joe Hochstein, Matt Hochstein, Jeremy Hochstein, Chris Hochstein, Brian Hochstein, and Joel Hochstein.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Deloris Mae Hochstein was born on May 31, 1935 in Fordyce, Nebraska to Henry and Mary (Peiper) Goeken.

Deloris married Duane J. Hochstein on October 19, 1954 in Fordyce. They resided on a farm north of Hartington where they raised their eight children.

Deloris worked at Gurney Seed, Tooties and recently retired from JJ Benji's. She will be remembered for her kindness, laughter, and the wonderful desserts and pies she provided at all the family gatherings. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington.

She is survived by her eight children and their spouses, Lou Ann and Rick Sudbeck of Hartington, Rita and Paul Volk of Battle Creek, NE, Deb and Jerry Heine of Hartington, Bob and Val Hochstein of Grant, NE, Chuck and Julie Hochstein of Hartington, Jeff and Mary Hochstein of Yankton, SD, Kevin Hochstein of Coleridge, NE, Patty and Todd Pinkelman of Wynot, NE; 34 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; sister Henrietta and husband Hubert Mauch of Fordyce, NE; brother Norbert and Bonnie Goeken of Norfolk, NE.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Duane on March 9, 2007 at the age of 73; grandson Joey Altwine, sister Darlene Foecke, and son-in-law Terry Fischer.

Deepest sympathies and best wishes to our cousins from the Foeckes in Maryland. My warmest memories of visits to Hartington were getting out to the Hochstein place and visiting with you all.
