Lorraine Elizabeth (Dreesen) Harbeck, age 85 of Lawndale, CA and formerly of Hartington, Nebraska, died on Saturday, September 21, 2013 in California. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, October 5, 2013 with a Memorial Service at 10:00 am at the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington with Father Jeffery Loseke officiating. Inurnment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Hartington. There was a Memorial Service conducted on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the White and Day Colonial Mortuary in California.
Lorraine was born on October 18, 1927on a farm in Cedar County to Elmo and Florence (Koch) Dreesen. She grew up in the Hartington area and graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hartington. She married Henry Harbeck on March 22, 1947. She lived in Lawndale, CA for 58 years where she worked for TRW Semiconductors for around 28 years. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and reading.
Lorraine is survived by 4 daughters and their husbands, Joan and Larry Cole of Lawndale; Diane and Dan Jewell of Huntington Beach, CA; Bonnie and Pete Medina of Hermosa Beach, CA; Beverly and George Wilmot of Golden Valley, AZ; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 6 sisters, Bernadine Davis of Littleton, CO; Mary Etta and Charles Young of Dakota City, NE; Helen and Alan Heikes of Wayne, NE; Karen and Roger Arndt of Spencer, Iowa; Linda and Lonnie Schrempp of Yankton, SD; Janice and James Tuttle of Hartington; a sister-in-law, Mary Dreesen of Yankton and a brother-in-law, Stephen Kalin of Coleridge, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry, her husband of 51 years, an infant daughter, Agnes Harbeck, a son, Ronald Harbeck, a great grandson, Ron Diz, 3 brothers, Edwin, Robert and Richard Dreesen and 2 sisters, Phyllis Vettel and Marlene Kalin.
