Marilyn A. Creamer, age 78, of Dixon, NE, died on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Hillcrest Care Center in Laurel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 10:30 am at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dixon, NE with Rev John Peitramale officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anne's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:30 pm at St. Anne's Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday at the church under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Pallbearers will be Jarrod Stingley, Aaron Stingley, Kevin Koester, Brandon Creamer, Joseph Creamer, Austin Creamer, Isaac Creamer, and John Magnuson.
Marilyn was born on October 13, 1929 at Waterbury, NE to Francis and Jane (Duffy) Tomason. She grew up in the Dixon area and graduated from Dixon High School. She received her teacher's certificate from Wayne Normal College and began teaching at Tip Top country school north of Hartington when she was 16 years old. She also taught at Dixon and Concord, NE until her marriage to LeRoy Creamer on April 11, 1953 at Dixon. Marilyn dedicated her life to her family and to her church. She served as the organist for St. Ann and St. Mary's churches from the time she was 13 until her late sixties. She managed to play the organ, direct the choir and manage 5 children in the pew in front of the organ for many years. Marilyn was named Mother of the Year by the Omaha Archdiocese in 1962. She gave music lessons and was a substitute teacher for many years. Her talents included music and she shared that with many people and groups. She also liked to paint and make wonderful chocolate angel food cakes.
Marilyn raised a wonderful family who will miss her dearly. Survivors include husband LeRoy, 5 children and their spouses; Shelley and Jeff Stingley of Sioux Falls, SD, Barbara and Jim Koester of York, NE, Jeff and Kathi Creamer of Montrose, CO, Mark and Deena Creamer of Hillsboro, OR, Ryan and Janet Creamer of Hartington, 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and a brother in law, Duane and Verna Mae Creamer of Wayne, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents.
