Melvin Ausdemore, age 81, of Crofton, died on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD as a result of a farm accident.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Constance, NE with the Rev. Michael Schmitz officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Constance with military rites by the Crofton American Legion Post #128.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton. There will be visitation on Monday one hour prior to services at church in Constance.
Pallbearers will be Arlan Haberer, Dan, Marlin, Steve, Robert, and Daryl Ausdemore.
Melvin Adolph Ausdemore was born on January 6, 1907 in Constance, NE to Herman and Frances (Koch) Ausdemore. He graduated from Constance Grade School and Crofton High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was honorably discharged. Melvin farmed southeast of Crofton and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Constance. He was a member of the Crofton American Legion Post #128.
Melvin is survived by two sisters, Clara Haberer of Crofton and Anna Ausdemore of Bloomfield; 13 nephews and nieces; many great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leo and Emil Ausdemore.
